SC Matting Agent™ is a premium grade, micronized polypropylene, gloss reducing matting agent designed for specific SureCrete sealers and coatings (see Loading Rates). Matting Agent provides the optimum, consistent, gloss control desired by today’s discerning designers. SureCrete’s formula delivers reduced settling of the additive after mixing due to the particulates’ spherical shape and size.

How Much Matting Agent to Use in SureCrete Sealers & Coatings?

SureCrete’s SC Matting Agent™ can be added to specified sealers and coatings below. Inside each bag is a scoop, measurements below are based on the scoop size provided in the packaging. Scoop measurements are to the top. Take care not to compress material in measurements.

• SUPER 20™ Solvent-Based Acrylic | 1 – 2 scoops per gallon
• SUPER 30™ Solvent-Based Acrylic | 1 – 2 scoops per gallon
• HS 200™ Series Solvent-Based Acrylic | 1 – 2 scoops per gallon
• HS 300™ Series Solvent-Based Acrylic | 1 – 2 scoops per gallon
• DK 400™  Solvent-Based Polyurethane | 2-4 scoops per gallon

NOTE: Add 1 lb. bag to a 5-Gallon pail of clear acrylic sealer

How to Mix SC Matting Agent

1. Measure the desired dosage rate as described in the above-mentioned “Loading Rates” chart.2. Pour the measured SC Matting Agent™ into any of the above mentioned sealers or coating.
2.  Mechanically mix (with jiffy style mixer) for 2 minutes at medium speed into chosen sealer.
3. When mixing SC Matting Agent™ into Dura-Kote Solvent-Based Polyurethane DK 400™, add scoops to the Part “A”, mechanically mix (with jiffy style mixer) for 2 minutes at medium speed.
4. Once mixed properly, continue with mixing Part “B” as described in the appropriate TDS. Application of SC Matting Agent™, once mixed into sealer or coating, will follow the desired sealer or coating TDS. Best results for uniform gloss reduction is achieved by use of a bucket grid. SureCrete recommends this on all jobs.
