SureCrete’s liquid Retarder is a water retardation admixture. It is safe non-hazardous, water-borne additive for cement products. It was designed specifically to slow the set of concrete overlay mixes. By adding this to the mix design, it helps control the curing process, especially in states with temperatures above 90 degrees or strong constant wind.

Retarding the cure can also be beneficial when trying to apply a particularly intricate design. For homeowners who may have less experience working with an overlay product, concrete water retarder can help to give them more work time before it sets up permanently.

What Concrete Bag Mixes Can I Use Retarder On?

Although it could be used with all bag mixes. Typically it is used with SureSpray, SureTex, SureStamp, WallStamp manufactured by SureCrete.

What States or Areas Are Retarders Used In?

States that have high Spring/Summer temperatures like Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, Arizona, and New Mexico. But with climate change affecting all areas through increased temperatures and constant wind make the use of retarding agents essential.

Dilution Rates For SureCrete Bag Mixes

Dosage to create “summer” mix from “winter” mix:
SureStamp – 3 oz. (89 mL) per 50 lb (22.7 kg) bag
SureSpray – 8 oz. (237 mL) per 50 lb (22.7 kg) bag
SureTex – 7 oz. (207 mL) per 50 lb (22.7 kg) bag
